First Time Here?

What to Expect

Welcome! It is a real joy for us to meet newcomers and to tell you about all the good things God is doing in our church family. For over ten years now it has been our mission to love God with everything. That means that no matter where you have come from and where you are on your spiritual journey, we want to come alongside to inspire, equip and encourage you to live out a life that will bring glory to God and be a blessing to the world.

Here's all you need to know before you show up for your first Sunday morning gathering: Come as you are. Although our time will be taken up by singing, teaching and praying, you don't need any manual to figure out how to fit in. Jesus simply says: "Come to me" and we say the same. Just come as you are!

Our Sunday

+ We offer two types of services at Rocklane.  Both types of services have the same format except for music style.  Our 8:15 AM service is hymn/choir led while our 9:45 AM and 11:15 AM service is contemporary/praise band led.

+ We offer Children's Church for pre-kindergarten to 5th grade.  We also offer nursery care for infants and toddlers.  Sixth graders and older have the option of a Bible study first service, youth service during second service, and can attend service with the adults during third service.

+ We are casually dressed for all services.

+ During the service time, we start with worship and a time of giving.  We teach directly from the Bible and offer a time of reflection and response after the sermon.  We participate in communion weekly as we believe Scripture shows us.

+ Make sure you stop by our Welcome Center and Connection Center to ask any questions and get additional information about us!

+ We look forward to seeing you!

  • Communion

Here at Rocklane, we simply strive to do things the way they did it in the Bible.  Because of this, we participate in communion on a weekly basis.  We believe we are shown this in verses such as:

    - Acts 20:7 "On the first day of the week we came together to break bread."

    - 1 Corinthians 10:16 "is not the cup of blessing that we bless a participation in the blood of Christ?  And is not the bread that we break a participation in the body of Christ?"

    - Acts 2:42 "They devoted themselves to the apostles' teaching and to fellowship, to the breaking of bread and to prayer."

It was common that when Christians met they participated in the Lord's Supper.  We use this time to reflect each week and remind ourselves of Christ's cost and love for us.  We see this time as the most important thing to do during service each week.

  • CHIldren

They can attend adult service, but we also have worship and small groups for students and Kindergarten through 5th grade. Kids Lane also provides a class for 2yrs-5yrs and has a nursery open for 2yrs and under.  Children 6th grade and older will attend the adult service.

  • Come as you are

The first service can be a little more formal than the second service.  Dressing casual with a nice pair of jeans, dress slacks, polo, or dress shirts are perfectly fine.  You will see many jerseys and jeans during football season too!

  • Sunday school Classes

Adult Sunday School classes will be offered during all three services.  Our children will have class during the second hour.  The first and third hour will be our children's service.  Youth has a Bible study first service, youth service second service, and will attend the main service third hour with their families.

  • Traditional vs COntemporary

Both types of services will have the same message from Pastor Seth.  The difference will be worship.  The traditional service will have the choir lead worship by singing hymns.  The contemporary service will have a worship band that will play modern contemporary Christian music for worship.

Meeting Times:

Sunday Mornings - 8:15am, 9:45am, 11:15am

Most services last somewhere around an hour long, and are not age-distinct. The first service is more traditional while the second two are contemporary and will have a band.  All three services have the same message and all are welcome at any of them.  We do provide Sunday school classes for all ages (birth-adult) during each service.
